The team at Dog Show HQ are working hard behind the scenes to put together a really exciting programme so please keep visiting this site for further announcements and updates. We can't wait to meet you and your furry friends at this years PAWsome Dog Show where there will be lots of opPAWtunities for you, your family and your furry friends to have a great day out.

There will be a selection of classes, have-a-go activities including agility and gundog scurry (suitable for all), terrier racing, egg and spoon race, musical mats, Guide Dogs, stall holders, and refreshments. Between handsome hound, fabulous female, golden oldie, best rescue, young handlers and more, we have classes for everyone! Scroll down this page for the full timetable.

Event Details
Date: Saturday 17th August, 2024
Time: 10:30am - 3pm. Registration from 10:00am, activities from 10.30am and classes from 11.00am.

Photographer: General photos of the day will be taken and these will be used on social media for the purposes of promoting future events. If you or your family do not wish to be photographed, please tell one of the volunteers on the day.
Location: The Recreation Ground (pedestrian access only via York Road (by MCC Garage) or via Iron Row (at the side of Arlo's Cafe, LS29 7DF). There are two spaces for disable parking (access via Iron Row). Otherwise parking) but otherwise parking is available, free of charge, within the village.
Polite Requests: Please keep your dog on a lead at all times. Do pick up after your dog - spare poo bags will be available at registration.
What's new for 2024?
Dog and Owner Fancy Dress
New for 2024!b
Lets have some fun with a dog and owner fancy dress class. Ideally both dogs and owners will dress up buts its not essential.
Costumes can be as simple or as creative as you like. Time to get creative and have a great time.
Gun Dog Scurry
Scurries are based on a dog’s ability to retrieve. This fun activity is open to all dogs of all abilities.
Typically the format of a scurry is:

At the command, your dog is sent to retrieve a 'dummy'. The timer is started once they cross over the start line.

The timer is stopped once they cross the line again.

The fastest dog wins!

3 goes for £2.00.
Class Timetable
Please note that timings are approximate and classes may start a little earlier or later than time-tabled. This is because judging very much depends on the number of entries per class as well as unknown factors such as inclement weather.

We will do our best to adhere to the time-table but ask for your understanding where this may not always be possible.

£1.50 per dog, per class
or 6 classes for the cost of 5 (£7.50)
TIME CLASS - Group 1
10:00 - Registration Opens
10:40 - Golden Oldie (available to all dogs aged 10 years and over)
10:50 - They call it Puppy Love (available to any puppy aged 6 months to one year)
11:00 - Young Handlers (6 – 14 years)
11:20 - Best Rescue/Rehome
11:30 - Musical Mats (How quickly can your dog sit on the mat when the music stops)?

11:50 - Scruffiest Mutt
12:00 - Waggiest Tail / Happiest Dog
12:10 - Handsome Hound
12:30 - ​Egg and Spoon Race for dogs and their owner (owners compete with their dogs on lead)
12:45 to 13:15 - Terrier Racing demonstrations
Group 3
13:20 - Dog and/or Owner Fancy Dress
13:30 - Fabulous Female
13:50 - Judges Favourite - OpPAWtunity Knocks! Open to any dog who hasn’t won a rosette today.
14:15 - Terrier Racing Heats and Grande Finale

Have a go Activity Ring
Our have-a-go activity ring is available from 10.30am until 3.00pm.
Cost: £1.50 a go
Mix and match any 3 games and activity.
Join in Musical Mats, Egg and Spoon and Have-a-Go Activity and pay £3.00 for all 3.
